"CEL" = cellulosic fibre

The cellulose fibres required for their production come from eucalyptus wood, oak and birch. Lyocell fibres are intended to contribute to the maintenance of the environmental balance by integrating them into the natural cycle. The fibres are made of wood produced by photosynthesis and the bio-based fibres are produced in an environmentally friendly production process. Because eucalyptus trees grow quickly, without irrigation and virtually any pesticides, on land no longer fit for food. The production of lyocell doesn’t use toxic chemicals, and 99.5% of the dissolving agent can be used repeatedly. Compared to cotton, lyocell has the potential to use less than half as much water in production. After being harvested, the wood is cut into penny-sized pieces and ground into a pulp, dissolved by the chemical amine oxide. What remains is raw cellulose – a sticky, viscous liquid. The mixture is pushed through spinnerets, and bright, white lyocell fibres emerge, which, after washing and drying, are ready to be spun into yarn and eventually woven into fabric.

Cellulose is characterised by their biodegradability. The fibres are certified as compostable and biodegradable. Meaning at the end of their life cycle, the fibres gradually disintegrate back into their raw materials without leaving any harmful residues. Natural cellulose is also the main reason why my products have such high wearing comfort: Lyocell fibres have a high dry and wet strength, meaning they absorb moisture very well and they are breathable.The moisture management of the fiber is impressive, because the fiber remains dry even with high-performance sports due to its  breathability and absorbency, supporting its wearer perfectly. Lyocell  is temperature-regulating. The absorbency of the  Lyocellmaterials keeps the skin dry and the smooth surface of the fibers remain soft and supple.

“That softness, the friendliness for the skin, but also the moisture management are really the three key advantages that lyocell brings versus a lot of other alternatives"

Unlike fibers such as viscose or  ployesters,  the  Lyocell  fiber is antiallergenic, antibacterial and therefore resistant to mites as well as bacteria. And thus also possesses the ability of odor neutralization of the substance. Unlike cotton, certain additional properties can already be added to the fibres in production. For example, like color-resistance-bright colors that do not wash out. Since in the production process the yarns are already dyed before they are weaved into a textile, the colour fastness is guaranteed. Lyocell  is designed for a long service life. Its elasticity and strength make it perfect for acquiring durable items, which is why this fiber is perfect for making sportswear.

In addition,  Lyocell is a very easy-care material. Clothes from it are suitable for washing machines up to 60 degrees. Since the material is suitable for drying, the cleaning and care of this material is particularly easy.
